The story of Omnipollos hatt

Omnipollos hatt opened in 2015 on Hökens gata near Slussen as the first bar from Omnipollo. The brewery was founded in 2011 by brewer Henok Fentie and designer Karl Grandin, and for its first ten years it was a so-called phantom brewery, having its recipes brewed at other people's plants. The name blends "omnipotent" with pollo, Spanish for chicken.

The taps pour mostly Omnipollo's own beers, many with unusual flavours, alongside sourdough pizza. The premises used to house the bar Melt. Omnipollo has since opened bars in Humlegården, Hamburg and Tokyo, and in 2021 it began brewing in its own building in Sundbyberg.

According to the City of Stockholm, Omnipollos hatt holds a permit for a terrace of about 15 m² at Hökens Gata 1A. The permit runs 1 April to 31 December 2026. The terrace has been in the city's register since 2020, as far back as the register goes.

How Stoligt works it out

Every ten minutes we draw a line from each terrace toward the sun and check whether a building or hill is tall enough to block it. Building heights come from OpenStreetMap and ground heights from Lantmäteriet, the Swedish mapping agency. The times assume a clear day, so clouds are not included here. They are on the live map, which shows today's weather.

Trees, parasols and awnings are not in the model, and we don't know exactly where on the pavement the tables stand. Treat the times as an educated guess, often accurate to within ten minutes.
