The story of Cassi
Cassi opened in December 1954 on the ground floor of Narvavägen 30, one of the Bocander buildings in Östermalm. The cooking was French from the outset, and the grill served veal schnitzel and entrecôte with chips, which was something new in Stockholm at the time. Tray service was part of the format from the start.
In 1970 the French-born chef Yves Fitoussy took over, and in 1990 the restaurant passed to the next generation of the Fitoussy family, who kept the same formula. The interior has changed little since the 1970s and the menu evolves only cautiously. Over the years Cassi became a regular haunt for staff from the nearby Swedish radio and television buildings.
