Mellqvist kaffebar is at Rörstrandsgatan 4, by Sankt Eriksplan. Erik Mellqvist started here more than 25 years ago, when the premises were still a bakery. The building dates from 1912–1914 and was designed by the architects Hagström & Ekman.
The coffee bar is open every day of the year, from early morning until late evening: coffee and fresh baking by day, light dinners, wine and beer in the evening.

According to the City of Stockholm, Mellqvist kaffebar holds a permit for a terrace of about 8 m² at Rörstrandsgatan 4. The permit runs 18 May 2026 to 31 March 2027. The terrace has been in the city's register since 2020, as far back as the register goes.

Every ten minutes we draw a line from each terrace toward the sun and check whether a building or hill is tall enough to block it. Building heights come from OpenStreetMap and ground heights from Lantmäteriet, the Swedish mapping agency. The times assume a clear day, so clouds are not included here. They are on the live map, which shows today's weather.
Trees, parasols and awnings are not in the model, and we don't know exactly where on the pavement the tables stand. Treat the times as an educated guess, often accurate to within ten minutes.
