The story of Fondueboden

Fondueboden is at Vanadisvägen 42 in Vasastan, near Vanadisplan. The restaurant describes itself as Stockholm's only dedicated fondue restaurant and says its roots go back to 1999.

Guests cook the food themselves in pots at the table: cheese, meat, fish and seafood, with chocolate fondue for dessert. The interior is in Alpine style, with dark timber beams, rustic furniture and candles. In summer there is a pavement terrace.

Sun on the terrace, according to Stoligt

Times look wrong, for example because the terrace is on the other side of the building? Fix the location in OpenStreetMap and Stoligt will follow at the next update.

How Stoligt works it out

Every ten minutes we draw a line from each terrace toward the sun and check whether a building or hill is tall enough to block it. Building heights come from OpenStreetMap and ground heights from Lantmäteriet, the Swedish mapping agency. The times assume a clear day, so clouds are not included here. They are on the live map, which shows today's weather.

Trees, parasols and awnings are not in the model, and we don't know exactly where on the pavement the tables stand. Treat the times as an educated guess, often accurate to within ten minutes.
